The SENDER project, along with its BRIDGE sister projects (iFLEX projectGIFT, iPLUG-HERESONANCE ProjectInterconnect Project, RENergetic project), exhibited its smart technology solutions, the SENDER smart box and home energy management mobile app, at The smarter E Europe in Munich, at the EU Innovation hub section in the EM-Power Europe exhibition area, B5 building, booth B5.2201.

The SENDER box, currently being installed at household participants, as well as its smart boilers.

Panel discussion on  “Consumer Engagement and Demand Response (Including Interoperable Smart Homes and Grids) and Decarbonising Systems in Energy and Geographical Islands”

Dr. Christian Kunze (Smart Innovation Norway, SENDER’s coordinating organisation), together with SENDER’s sister project coordinators Eduardo A Vendrell del Río (RENergetic), Maria Perez Ortega (InterConnect), Igor Steiner (GIFT), Markus Taumberger (iFLEX) took part in a panel discussion on consumer engagement and demand response (including interoperable smart homes and smart grids) and decarbonising systems in energy and geographic islands.

The discussion focused on three topics:

  1. Recommendations for strengthening consumer engagement.
  2. Challenges in promoting demand response activities to consumers and measures to overcome them.
  3. Focus on energy islands and the various challenges and solutions to consumer engagement and demand response.
